Overall, they are among the smallest of dogs.  They are known for their small bodies but long, fine and straight hair.  Their hair is very similar to human hair, with the same feeling and shed the same amount as human hair which is very minimal.

Personality: Yorkshire terrier's are small but feisty.  They are very energetic and can be domineering.  However, they are very affectionate at the same time and want lots of attention.  They make excellent watchdogs and usually get along well with other dogs.  However, they may get snappy around small children if not treated respectfully or gently.  Since they are small, they don't need a lot of room to exercise and make great apartment dogs and house dogs.  They can also be sensitive to the cold and prone to chills so a coat is recommended when they are being walked outside in the cold.
